Top-Notch Company Party Ideas

top notch company party ideas

Employee appreciation events, holiday parties, and annual outings with your team can become stale over time. You may have started with some fun events, but now you feel bored just planning it. We have your back. We’ve compiled a list of some of the best outings and events for any occasion you choose to celebrate with your company.

Balls or Galas

Depending on the size of your company, a ball can be as large or small as you want. In larger companies with several office locations, its ideal to gather everyone in a central location that can accommodate a group of your size. It can be classy and catered, and if you’re feeling fancy, you can make it a themed ball. Smaller companies can rent a room in a restaurant, host the ball in the conference room, or rent a small ballroom.

Board Game Tournament

Competition in a company can be a wonderful thing. It can boost morale, spark creativity, and bring loads of laughter. This can be a several-hour event with a bracket for the games and winners or you could make it a weekly team-bonding event on Fridays. Of course, there should be a great prize for the winner like a spa treatment, pizza party, or a basket of local goodies or gift cards.

Even terrible bowlers have fun going out for pizza and drinks. Bowling is even more fun when its theme night! So, make a plan to dress up your company as animals, knights and princesses, or dress your decade and head to your local bowling alley for a memorable night full of laughter and bonding. The best dressed should win a free round of bowling for their team.

Cater in or head out and treat your team to a delicious brunch. Arrange a surprise brunch for your team in your conference room with loads of baked goods, fresh fruit, and bacon. Consider spicing it up with mimosas or a signature mocktail, and if you’re feeling extra fancy, have a make your own omelet station. Not only does this boost morale, but it will also send your workers back to their desks energized and happy.

Escape Room

One of the most exciting work-related adventures your team will have will include being locked in a room for 60 minutes. Sounds exhilarating, right? We’re talking about taking your next party to an escape room which will be fun, adventurous, and a great opportunity to see who is a natural-born leader. The best escape room companies offer several different experiences with several themed rooms that fully immerse you in the story of a lifetime.

Fun Golf

Golf has never been more exciting. Golf entertainment complexes are a wonderful place to take your team for a special birthday celebration, employee appreciation, or holiday celebration. They make it easy to get together, include everyone, and make memories doing something out of the ordinary.

Best done in the warmer months, frolfing, or frisbee golf, is a surefire way to work out some steam with your entire company. You can pit work teams against one another or shake up the teams by scrambling everyone. Make a day of it by grilling out and hosting a company picnic after the game and crown the winner of the frolfing tournament.

Movie Day

It was always the best day in elementary school when they wheeled in the tv and that excitement will be just as high when you announce your company movie day. Stock up on movie theatre candy, popcorn, and a variety of drinks for your employees as they hunker in for a movie day in office. If you want to go all out, take your team to a theatre with their family and enjoy a feature film without the office environment.

For the more adventurous souls, paintballing can leave a mark, but it also creates memories. Be sure to dress in a heavy layer and take your best shot to battle it out and be the winner. Treat the gang to pizza afterward help soothe their bruised ego and maybe their welts, too.

Everyone loves a classic company picnic at a local park. Fill the grills, the coolers, and the lawn with tons of games for adults and kids. It’s all about bringing everyone together to enjoy a beautiful day and helping foster friendships outside of their nine-to-five setting.

Posh Dinner

Don your jacket and pearls for a ritzy dinner. Take the group out to a fancy restaurant or hotel function room and spoil them with a dinner they likely wouldn’t do on their own. Not only does this spoil them, but it also makes them feel very thankful to be a part of the team and to work for a generous company. It can be a dry dinner or you can give a limit to the selection of beverages allotted for the evening.

Pop-up office spas are becoming more popular as they make use of your office space and bring a relaxing and stress-free day to your employees. Offer facials, mini-manicures, mini-pedicures, shoulder massages, and you can’t forget light refreshments such as cucumber water, fresh fruit, and finger sandwiches.

Company trivial, pop culture trivia, or classic Disney movie trivia. No matter what you choose, your group will love rallying together, duking it out, and battling to be the best trivia team in the company. Tons of restaurants and pubs offer trivia regularly or you can choose to create your own and host an in-office trivia party with catered food, beverages, and desirable prizes.

Take your company party to the next level with one of these unforgettable and memorable experiences. You can even choose to pair a few together and come up with your own super-party. review rating 5  Emilia hooked it up! Super fun chatting with her and when we were in the escape room she gave us the perfect amount of clues without making it too easy or too hard. The flower shop is amazing, the puzzles and technology were engaging and the prohibition theme was fun to act out. I heard we took the best picture ever? :)

  • review rating 5  “You’ll shoot your eye out!” We did A Christmas Story and it was SO fun- so many layers, different types of puzzles, challenging but never got totally stuck. Selena was a great guide, clearly super knowledgeable about the room, gave great hints and was very witty, completely made the experience for us.

review rating 5  My group almost missed the entrance at first which you have to buzz into, but the staff were so helpful! Selena and Matt greeted us, had us sign waivers, and gave a few tips quickly so that we had as much time as possible! They were great at giving us helpful and creative hints throughout. We made it out with almost 10 minutes to spare! Some of us had been to an escape room before and others hadn't, but the outbreak room was just right for us! Thanks so much for a great time!

  • review rating 5  Troy and Tommy Bohan with my son Paul Garcia-Lance and myself had the best of times trying to get out of the Egyptian tomb. We were seconds away but fell short of solving the mystery and we’re buried alive. Thank you so much for an enjoyable evening and a special shout out to Taylor and Sierra who moderated our adventure ! We have to return for our group picture and another great adventure!

  • review rating 5  My group and I did the Outbreak puzzle and it was super fun, challenging, and exciting. To top it off, Amelia? Emilia? o my goodness forgot her name, but she was super funny and full of energy, totally added to the experience. Will for sure come back and try the other rooms.

review rating 5  This place is A TON OF FUN! It was my first time doing a live escape room and I will definitely be doing many more because of the experience that I had here. Devon and Trace were our hosts and I absolutely love the presentation and humor that they brought to the experience. It was myself and one other person in one of the easier rooms and we just barely made it out in time. It was a great challenge and a blast of a time. I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a fun challenge with friends or some bonding time with a significant other. 10 out of 10 for sure! Thanks gang! Keep up the good work!

  • review rating 5  The staff were very helpful and fun people. We did the beyond the flower shop room theme which was designed well even for our large group of 12 people, but I could see all group sizes enjoying this room. I appreciate the attention to detail to the escape room and the challenges placed throughout. The experience was worth it for our team-bonding event, and I highly recommend this for all types of people. Thanks for all the fun!

review rating 5  Such a fun experience. I had never been in an escape room before and we went with a group that we didn’t know. It was so fun to get to work with strangers as a team to accomplish a common goal. Challenging room but so fun to do, and Taylor and Matt were so helpful at giving clues just when we needed them. Would definitely go back again!

  • review rating 5  I rented beyond the flower shop room for my wedding party. We had a blast! The puzzles were challenging but fun. There was plenty of room for everyone to work on different puzzles at the same time. We got out with 2 minutes to spare. Shout out to Trace, he did a great job at only giving us hints when we needed it. I don't like it when they're too generous with the hints, takes the challenge out of the experience. This was my third escape room in Denver and I've used a different company each time. I would definitely come back here to try a different room.

review rating 5  My fiancee and I were vacationing in Denver and tried out the Egyptian Tomb with another group of 4. We escaped with 5 minutes to spare! Very good room layout and good props. Puzzles were challenging and rewarding once solved. I was not a huge fan of how they did the hints... usually you have 3 hints or whatever and you ask for a hint when you get stuck, instead they give you hints when they think you need it. Otherwise, our game master, Trace, was very helpful and personable. Overall, very satisfied with our experience!

  • review rating 5  EscapeWorks Denver was an amazing experience! We did a team outing for 2 large groups with our sales team and everyone came out so impressed. I had never done one but many in our group have, they all were at the conclusion that this was the best they have done so far! Great team building experience and very cost effective if on a budget. Savannah was awesome along with the staff that helped with our experience!

    thumb Chip Stahmer

review rating 5  Had a great work team retreat activity here. Loved the puzzles and escaping the "flower shop" (aka: 1920s speakeasy). I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a team building exercise or just wanting to have fun.

    thumb Robert Bogan
  • review rating 5  We completed a team event here where we split into teams and competed to finish first. Both rooms had amazing puzzles and it was really fun. I think our company team thoroughly enjoyed both rooms. We completed The Egyptian Tomb and the Casino but one of our members in the casino team can't seem to stop mumbling numbers and math equations.

    thumb Russell Maysey

review rating 5  We discovered EscapeWorks while exploring Denver. We were able to get a same day walk-in time. We did the Flower Shop story. It was challenging and enjoyable. The storyline was fun. The highlight though was our guide, Emilia. Emilia was friendly, upbeat and encouraging. We enjoyed our time and would visit again!
