Denver is an active city. There are hundreds of activities to do in the Mile High City. No matter what activity you prefer, you know Denver will have it. Here are the 6 best things to do in Denver:
Breweries
Recently, micro-breweries have flocked to the West. Rocky Mountain water gives every beer brewed in Denver a crisp clean taste straight from the tap. TheCoors Brewery tour in Golden is free to the public and provides free samples. If you are looking for smaller breweries, check out the tour atNew Belgium Brewery in Ft. Collins. In the middle of Denver, there is also an officialDenver Microbrew Tour, with stops near the Ballpark and in the LoDo neighborhood — perfect for the beer connoisseur.
Book Readings
Additionally, Denver is also home to many authors and poets who like to present their works in local bookstores and coffee shops. On Sunday nights there’s a poetry slam atMercury Cafe, where anyone can sign up to present their poem or just come by and listen. There are also book clubs at theTattered Cover, a local book store specializing in local, independent authors.
Trivia Nights
Next, are you looking for something to do in Denver where you can showcase your knowledge of random information? Check out the trivia nights hosted by many bars in the Denver area.Geeks Who Drink is popular in Denver, hosting a pub quiz most nights of the week. On Wednesdays the Irish Rover hosts a quiz and Stoney’s Bar and Grill has a trivia night on Thursdays.
Opera House / Plays / Ballet
Denver is home to the world-renownedColorado Ballet, featuring world-class ballet dancers at various theaters throughout Denver. Some of Broadway’s most famous plays, like The Lion King and The Book of Mormon, have performed shows at the Bellco Theater. Next door to the Bellco Theater is the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, where opera enthusiasts will be delighted that every seat tilts backward in the theater.
Meow Wolf
In addition to Santa Fe and Las Vegas, Denver is also home to a Meow Wolf! This location is an enormous addition to the growing chain of interactive art exhibits. It’s an astounding 10x the size of the Santa Fe Meow Wolf, so this is an amazing place to get lost in for a few hours. From a strange extra-stellar forest to an alien city, you’ll always find something new with each visit- and, if you’re feeling up to it, stop by the gift shop to get some incredible merchandise!
Puzzles
The new trend for entertainment venues are puzzle rooms. Teams from 2 to 8 players congregate in individual rooms where the team has one hour to unlock the door. Each room has a theme, and there are puzzles, clues and codes spread out in the room, ready to be solved by each team. Because the clues are unique to each room, some clues might lead to another clue, a way out of the room, or even a hidden room! The fun keeps going until the timer runs out, creating a sense of urgency and entertainment as the night wears on.
One of the best puzzle rooms in Denver isEscapeWorks. The best way to escape life’s struggles is to try to escape our puzzle rooms! With a variety of themes to fit any team, we can be the one place where fun and brain power come together to create one memorable night for you and your friends.
If you have any questions about our puzzle rooms, contact us at EscapeWorks Denver and we will be happy to assist you!
My coworkers and I decided to do some team building while we were in Denver for a conference. They were able to accommodate our rather large group with the pirate-themed room, and our Game Master Abby was fantastic. We escaped with time to spare, and everyone had a fantastic time—several were new to escape rooms altogether, and enjoyed it so much they went back to do another one later in the week!

We've done quite a few escape rooms and this one was well put together. The decorating effort in Vampire Slayer was quite good, and Brian was doing a fantastic job coordinating a few full rooms and a constantly buzzing door of new groups rapidly coming in. The clues are automatically given instead of asked for, but they didn't spoon feed them too us. It was only when we were clearly missing the mark. All components of the room worked and were fairly challenging but not impossible to solve. We also really appreciate that this one allows groups with strangers! It's perfect for couples that don't want to try it alone but can't get a group together. Thanks to Brian and Cole we had a great experience!

Absolutely loved! The theme was so cool (pirate themed) and the puzzles were so fun! I had some friends in town so there were 6/7 of us and there was enough for us to divine and conquer! Abby our host was so sweet and super helpful, will be back again!

Wyatt was an awesome game master. He gave us a fair chance at solving all the clues without giving us too many hints to spoil it. He was very kind and courteous. The entire staff was great and the room was super challenging and fun.

Our game master Celeste was amazing! She monitored our progress and made sure we didn't abandon clues when we were on the right path, but gave us plenty of space to explore and ponder. The room itself was well constructed with plenty of objects to fiddle with that meant nothing and plenty of fixed items for vibes. The puzzles were challenging without being overwhelming.

I've tried 3 of the 5 rooms, and so far they've all been fantastic! The puzzles are challenging but not unsolvable. Even the casino heist, which gave us the most trouble, was so fun and had some puzzles i hadn't seen in other escape rooms. I've had Wyatt as a game master twice and Austen once, and both did a fabulous job running the game!

Had a great time today, we did the speakeasy, it was very fun and the puzzles weren’t neither too difficult nor too easy which made the experience a lot better. Our game master Brian was great and helped us on the way whenever we got too carried away. Overall a great experience and would come back!
